Chess Club
The Melbourne University Chess Club meets three times a week during each semester to celebrate and enjoy the wonderful game of chess. We endeavour to provide refreshments and food each lunchtime the club meets and the club offers a friendly atmosphere to accommodate both new players and experienced ones. Throughout the semester the club holds tournaments which last half a day and are a great chance to test your ability and make new friends. Beginners are welcome to join as we have a good mix of skill levels and capable teachers for those wishing to learn the game.

Crazy 8AM Stretching Club
Crazy 8am stretching club is a club for people crazy enough to get up by 8am to stretch, in order to get fit and flexible. We aim to get fit and flexible and strong enough to be able to fight off any possible surprise zombie attacks, which are otherwise quite dangerous.

Juggling Club
Juggling Club has been hanging around Melbourne University since about 1998. We meet on Thursdays, 52 weeks a year, for a few hours from about 4:30pm until we’re cold/tired/hungry under the sails in North Court. During semester, we also meet on Mondays at around 1pm on the Concrete Lawns (east side of Union House).
You don’t need to know how to juggle to join the Juggling Club, just turn up and someone will be able to help teach you. Members practise ball, club and contact juggling, and we also dabble in unicycling, poi, staff, mini-biking, diabolo, acrobalance and more, so if there’s something else you’re interested in learning, just ask around. The Juggling Club is also a great place for people who already do circus stuff to come play or work on serious skills, and share the joy with each other.
As well as hanging out and doing some juggling, we regularly hold pizza nights, barbecues, a camp each semester, workshops, a juggling club ball and the new annual ice-creamery crawl. Juggling Club – It’s all about the love and/or safety!

Students Playing Go
Students Playing Go Club have the main focus on playing the game of Go which is an ancient oriental game of strategy where two players take turns to place black and white stones on the board, fighting to take more territory than the opponent. The rules are simple and can be learnt in a few minutes; however, it is said to take a lifetime to
master.
Go is the second most played game in the world, after Chinese Chess, and is an excellent way to develop both logical and creative abilities, as it exercises both sides of the brain. Students Playing Go club meets weekly to play, teach, discuss and enjoy this wonderful game. Players of all levels, including absolute beginners are always welcome to come and take part, and due to a simple and effective handicapping system, can even challenge more experienced players on level terms.
Go is a game of balance, which, some believe, reflects the personality of the player. We hope all students will come along and learn more about this great game, as well as themselves. The day and location of our weekly meetings can be found on our website. If you have any other enquiries please email us.
