International Commerce Students Society
The Overseas Commerce Students’ Society (OCSS) was first established in 1993 as the voice for overseas students within the Faculty of Economics and Commerce. With its growth and development, ICSS was renamed to its current title of International Commerce Students’ Society (ICSS) during the 2001 AGM.
Throughout the years, ICSS has fostered the requirements of students from non-English speaking backgrounds as well as accommodating the interest of local students in international firms. ICSS primarily deals with the needs of commerce students, however, ICSS has now expanded to include members from other disciplines including students from the Faculty of Engineering, Medicine, Law, Science, Arts and Music. As a mean of enhancing inter-faculty interactions, there functions organized jointly with other students’ society such as the International Engineering Students’ Society (IESS), International Law Students’ Society (ILSS) and International Medicine Students’ Society (IMSS). Such events are designed as a flux for new friendships, camaraderie, good times and great memories.
Objectives
The objectives of ICSS are to provide opportunities for our members to meet the increasing demand of international working experience and diverse language / Cultural skills. To do that, we welcome all bold and creative ideas. ICSS is here to assist in all possible ways!
Activities
Although ICSS is an academic society, we organize many social activities with the aim of encouraging friendships between students of all year level within the Faculty of Economics and Commerce as well as across other faculties. Our major social activities include: the I-Ball, I-Trip and I-Game which was organized in conjunction with other clubs such as IESS, ILSS and IMSS.Email: icss_melb@yahoo.com.

International Engineering Students Society
The International Engineering Students Society (IESS) was set up in 1993 to aid students make the transition to life overseas. Today, IESS has grown to become a multi-cultural society comprising of both local and international students. As a society that puts the welfare of our members before all else, we are committed to helping our members fit in and find their way, constantly striving to add value to their living and educational experience.
Active throughout the academic year, IESS organizes a diverse range of activities for our members. From social gatherings like free lunches and beach outings, to outdoor extreme sports like paintball and ski trips, to even industrial field trips and career talks, theres a little something for everyone, be it the social butterfly, the adrenaline junkie or the job-seeking graduate. And hey, who said you couldn’t do all at the same time? The main highlights of the IESS calendar include the annual I-Games, held in collaboration with other international faculty societies like ICSS, ILSS and IMSS, and also the Mega Ski Trip, undisputedly one of the biggest international student events on campus.
Besides gaining networking opportunities with other students, members benefit from firsthand information, priority bookings, and, most importantly, special membership prices for the multitude of IESS events.
