The Legal Service provides free legal assistance to all Melbourne University student union members. For all non members a fee of $50.00 per visit is applicable.
Legal advice is by appointment only. Students must present their current student card and proof of union membership when attending their first appointment. Advice is not initially given over the phone.
To make an appointment, please contact reception between the hours of 9am-5pm Monday-Friday, either in person or by phoning 8344 8687.
Please note that the solicitor is only available on Thursday’s, Friday’s and every second Wednesday for consultation.
The Legal Service maintains a collection of self-help pamphlets, and has contact numbers for all referral agencies.
Charges
The service is free for Student Union members.
A fee of $50 is charged per visit to non-Members.
