The Student Union offers a lot of different ways of interacting with other students and participating in campus life. Some students will want to join a bunch of collectives and get involved in issues that are important to them. For others, participation in visual arts or theatre programs will allow them to express themselves, continue their extra curricular activities from school and meet new people. For others still, the most important thing about the Student Union might simply be having somewhere to take a nap between classes, or borrow DVDs for free. Maybe you’ll be one of these students, or maybe someone else entirely. Maybe a mixture of everything.

One of the best ways to figure out what you want to get from your Student Union Membership is just to explore Union House. A lot of people don’t know that Student Union services can be found on every one of the five floors of Union House — plenty of people never venture past the ground floor food hall, and miss out on seeing what the Student Union is really about.
